The perfect picture frame - A poem from the Settle Community

A poem from a Settle young person who wished to stay anonymous. They asked that while reading, you "read with an open mind but take what coincides with how you feel"

By Settle

When your tongue salivates for a certain taste

and you're enhanced by a perfect picture frame

whilst your mind craves the omniscient truth

you're impelled to expand your flavoured taste aiming to reach for a dime untouched

so why do you refuse to change the guide?

Persisting in your quest for a heavenly plate

you smile though lovelorn ever since the delay.

Hungry for more and grateful to none

lost in a dull vacuous life or so it seems.

Eager to fulfil the demands of your tongue

testifying to an unusual taste

yet you refrain from changing your plate.

Has the bitterness convinced you?

Like grapes on the vine waiting for their time

to reach your mouldable mind only to convince you to sip and sigh as it may seem.

Look wisely at the perfect picture frame

for your philosophy provides a path that may prevail

stick to the gut that mumbles away

leading you to a cardinal place. The perfect picture frame has no weight for it is you the one who chooses to paints.
