Moving into a first home should be a moment of stability and excitement. But with a lack of support available, young people leaving care are at a high risk of experiencing a range of poor life outcomes from homelessness and poor mental health to unemployment and the cycle of debt.

Alongside the pressures of rent, bills, food and transport, access to everyday essentials, including period products, can become yet another barrier to feeling safe and settled at home.

This partnership helps shine a light on the reality that access to basic essentials should never depend on circumstance. It recognises that period care is not a luxury, but a fundamental part of health, dignity and feeling safe at home.

At Settle, we work alongside care-experienced young people during this critical transition, providing practical and personalised support to help them build the foundations for a stable future. Through Fund a Cycle, Mooncup is helping extend that support even further, ensuring more young people have access to the essentials they need as they settle into their first home.
