A statement from Settle: Changes to UK asylum system
Yesterday, The Government announced changes to the UK asylum system. We know this news may feel worrying for young people who came to the UK as unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. We want to reassure you that these changes 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘁 affect our commitment to you.
Whether you are currently working with a Settle Coach, a graduate of the Settle Programme, or someone we will work with in the future, you are a valued member of the Settle community and you always will be.
We see the potential in every young person we work with, and we will continue to walk alongside you to ensure you have the support you need to thrive, regardless of the journey that has brought you to where you are today.
𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲, and our mission will never change. We will continue to work towards a UK where no young person leaving care experiences homelessness, and where every young person has the opportunity to build the future they deserve.
