A Home of Our Own

Leaving care shouldn’t feel like no one cares.

Every young person deserves a safe home, enough money to live on, and people around them who truly care.

Introducing the advocacy forum

Creating lasting change

Settle’s Advocacy Forum is a space where care-experienced young people lead the conversation on what needs to change.

It brings together young voices, frontline professionals, and decision-makers to share lived experiences, challenge injustice, and co-create solutions.

Through the forum, we have developed our campaign: A Home of Our Own.

Our call-to-action

We all need a place to call home, enough money to live on, and people around us who care

Stable, secure housing - a safe, suitable home for the long term

Enough money - to live on and start to build a fulfilling and independent life

Love and care – a network of relationships and support to enable young people to flourish and thrive

Young people leaving care deserve this as much as anyone

“The reason why I joined the advocacy group was to draw upon my own lived experience, because I'm a very firm believer that despite the adversity that I have faced, it wouldn't have been without a greater reason, and I firmly believe that greater reason is bettering the lives of other care experienced individuals.”
